Duck Duck Moose is looking for a full-time in-house Digital Illustrator/Animator to join our growing team.

The Digital Illustrator will work closely with our Creative Director, Junior Designer, Product Manager and Engineers to create animated illustrations for our industry-leading iPhone and iPad apps. Our new illustrator will have a love of children’s illustration and media, a strong understanding of mobile interaction design, and an easy-going, fun-loving personality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create animated and still assets and backgrounds for our children’s apps that fit within the Duck Duck Moose aesthetic
  • Create promotional graphics as needed for our website, press and launch materials
  • Work with the creative team to define fun and engaging interactions
  • Work closely with our engineers to optimize digital assets for use in our apps
  • Produce and deliver final pixel-perfect PSD and PNG files from final design files
  • Review builds for quality control and layout accuracy

REQUIREMENTS

  • BA/BS degree in related field, with at least 2 years of experience in visual effects or animation, video game development, or motion graphics
  • Excellent sensibility for character animation, design, and gaming principles
  • Expert skill level in Photoshop, and Illustrator CS5
  • Working knowledge of web technologies (HTML 5, CSS, Javascript, ActionScript)
  • Ability to create new design and animation assets to match existing art styles
  • Portfolio must demonstrate strong animation, motion graphics and design skills
  • Experience with iOS or other mobile platforms ideal
  • Strong work ethic with organizational skills, attention to detail, and good communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and to keep track of several ongoing projects
    Experience working in one 3D platform a plus
